He believes that because a band plays together, it is more fun to listen to live albums than studio recordings, so he bought live ones. Slash discussed his early years as a musician at the Guitar Center in Hollywood. He also played bass on the song “Suck My Kiss” by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. In a 2006 interview, Slash stated that he “played bass on a couple of the tracks” on the Guns N’ Roses album Chinese Democracy. While Slash is best known as a guitarist, he has also dabbled in playing bass guitar. ![]() In 2012, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Guns N’ Roses’ classic lineup. He then co-founded the supergroup Velvet Revolver, which re-established him as a mainstream performer in the mid to late 2000s. Slash, born Saul Hudson, is best known as the former lead guitarist of the American hard rock band Guns N‘ Roses, with whom he achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s.ĭuring his later years with Guns N’ Roses, Slash formed the side project Slash’s Snakepit.
